Guiding Principles

I believe the following statements and they will serve to guide my decisions as your elected representative

  • County government exists to serve all people in the county.
  • County commissioners are public servants of the highest profile, and they should embody exemplary honesty, integrity, and compassion while working for the common good.
  • All decisions and policies should improve the lives of the least fortunate, provide equal treatment under the law to all citizens, and foster improved understanding of differences amongst people.
  • The best ideas and solutions can come from any source.

In addition, to follow these principles I will

  • Keep doors open.
  • Meet regularly with citizens in the community.
  • Listen to all thoughtful ideas.
  • Quickly and accurately communicate decisions.
  • Seek to understand citizens' needs and feelings.
